The Robbins Knives logo, an archer’s arrow, is a point of interest as Landon is often asked why he uses another weapon as the maker's mark for his knives.  In Native American symbolism, the arrow represents protection.  It is also a nod to the Robbins family’s ancient ancestors of the British Isles – the Amesbury Archer, Archer’s companion, Boscombe Bowmen, and Stonehenge Archer.  These prehistoric archaeological remains, carbon dated to circa 2300 BC, were all buried with flint arrowheads among their artifacts and their nicknames reflect the common theme.  The early Insular Celts/Bell-Beaker people were also known metalsmiths and the Amesbury Archer site contained copper knives and metalworking tools.  Landon's craft runs deep.

Landon learned to appreciate a good knife at an early age while growing up hunting and fishing in the rural Ozarks of Missouri.  In 2009, after working as a machinist for twenty years, he decided to get serious about knife making and enrolled in the two-week apprentice program at the William F. Moran School of Bladesmithing in Old Washington, AR.  Achieving his Journeyman Smith rating in 2013, he has quickly become known for his craftsmanship and artistry through various publications and knife show awards.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Despite his inherent talent, Landon still considers himself a beginner and is always eager to learn new techniques.  He teaches classes at Ozark Knife Makers when his schedule allows and is looking forward to testing for his Master Smith rating in due time.  In the meantime, he can be found in his new shop honing his craft.

All Robbins Knives are solely crafted with W1, W2 or 1084 steel.  Damascus is also shop-crafted from 1084/15N20 steel.  The current focus is fixed blades  - hunters, fighters, and Bowie styles -  and custom orders are always welcome.
